Four Day Beard Friday #6: Sweetheart Suckers

album-coverSome people say that Knoxville, TN is the Bermuda Triangle of the Appalachians. I’m sure there are far stranger things happening but the story you are about to hear is true, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent. Don’t bring your girl to Knoxville… there are at least 3 nearly identical stories like this that I know of from my time in Knoxville…

… another track from the album for you all on this fine Friday morning. We are getting close! I can almost smell it.

“Sweetheart Suckers” is the sixth track from the upcoming Four Day Beard release available on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal etc. on Friday April 15th.

I will be posting the one of rest of the track’s from this album every Friday until the release on April 15th.

4DB Friday #5: Polar Vortex

album-coverHappy April Fools Day. This is not an April fools gag. Just kidding, it is. APRIL FOOLS! just kidding, no it isn’t. ok that was dumb…

“Polar Vortex” is the fifth track from the upcoming Four Day Beard release available on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal etc. on Friday April 15th.

Enjoy…

I will be posting the one of rest of the track’s from this album every Friday until the release on April 15th.

Four Day Beard Friday #4: Döppleganger

album-coverHappy “Four Day Beard” Friday. Here we are at the halfway point.

“Döppleganger” is the fourth track from the upcoming Four Day Beard release available on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal etc. on Friday April 15th.

For the past 5 or 6 years I have been frequently mistaken for someone else by strangers that I have never met. Enough times that it started to seem strange.

I guess there are a lot of bald guys around with beards and black rimmed glasses.

This song is about my Döppleganger. See ya around, buddy.

I will be posting the one of rest of the track’s from this album every Friday until the release on April 15th.

Four Day Beard Friday #3: Salty Brine

album-coverHappy Friday. Are you ready for the third track?

“Salty Brine” is the third track from the upcoming Four Day Beard release available on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal etc. on Friday April 15th.

This song is pretty special and important to me. It was the first song I wrote while living in Southern Illinois. This helped me start to reconnect with music and myself at a time that I felt extremely isolated and started the journey that became this album of songs. It’s dark, angsty and vulnerable, but that usually makes for good songs doesn’t it?

Shout out to my good friend, Karim Elghobashi (Gun Hill Royals) who played the killer guitar leads on this song.

I will be posting the one of rest of the track’s from this album every Friday until the release on April 15th.

Four Day Beard Friday #2: Feels Like I Might Disintegrate

album-coverHappy Friday. This is the second track from the upcoming Four Day Beard release available on iTunes, Spotify, Tidal etc. on Friday April 15th.

“Feels Like I Might Disintegrate” has been compared to some great bands like Sparklehorse and Beck. I am a huge fan of both, so hearing that is a great compliment. This track has been featured on Nick Taan’s “Is This Thing On?” Independant music podcast (thanks for the Beck compliment, Nick!).

I will be posting the one of rest of the track’s from this album every Friday until the release on April 15th.

Four Day Beard Friday #1 – Kentucky Gentleman

In anticipation of the upcoming debut album release on April 15th (Have you done your taxes yet?), I will be posting a song from the album every Friday for the next 8 weeks. I’ll be posting them in order, so by the end (and just in time for the album release) you will have heard all of the tracks. I should have started this last week because there are 8 songs (but only 7 weeks remaining). The release date is on a Friday (April 15th), so I will double post then.  These posts can also serve as a reminder to do your taxes, or more likely to just put them off just a little longer! Here we go….

The first track title is “Kentucky Gentleman”. This song is about those times when you feel like escaping.
